Snow on Virginia Bluebells, Spring 2001

The Virginia Bluebells in my backyard were covered with light snow just after sunrise last spring, as well as a fern pushing its way up (lower right corner). The snow wasn't really a surprise since Central Ohio's spring weather is anything but predictable. Many times spring flowers will come up and then it will frost or even snow or freeze, even as late as early May. These flowers survived the cold weather just fine.
