Spring Beauties, April 1999
These flowers show up in my yard in April and are usually gone by the first of May. These were my favorite flowers when I was younger and would sit in a patch of them we had between two trees.
Thanks to Deb for giving me the proper name for these lovely flowers. She let me know the scientific name of Spring Beauties is Claytonia virginica and is in the Portulacaceae family.
