Every one of these photos (except
one) is from Ocean City, Maryland. I admit most of these migrated
over from the Odds and Ends page, but there are some new ones
here.
Ocean City was the vacation spot for our family and a group
of friends for over 10 years. These are just a few of the photos
that I took there during our last trip there in 1989. If you
vacationed there in the 80's, I am sure many of these photos
will look familiar.
I went to Ocean City again in the fall of 2004. In many ways
it has changed considerably and in other ways it is still the
same, particularly the boardwalk.
The Atlantic Ocean is what brought me back in Fall of 2004.
I missed the ocean and watching the sun rise over the water.
I spent 9 days there doing nothing but laying on the beach and
sunning myself.
The Atlantic reminds me of the expression "She is always
and never the same". Nothing could be more true - it's
the same ocean I've visited since I was eight but it changes
the face of the shore each and every day. No two days are ever
identical.
I was fortunate enough to see a lot of dolphins in 2004 and
even swim close to a few. In all the years we visited OC, I
had never seen a dolphin until this trip. I caught some on video
tape but the regular camera was back at the condo.
Truthfully, I have visited other parts of Maryland as we have
family in the Baltimore area. I've driven through the countryside
on the way to mid-WV and seen the fields of wildflowers. That
part of Maryland is rolling, quiet, and quite different than
the shore we visited so often.
