Sun Patch, Fall 2002

An amazing thing happened when the sun came through that sliver of clouds. The entire area I was in was bathed in orange late day light, but the rest of the sky in all directions was very dark. This made the scene very intense. The sun appeared in an instant and went back into the clouds just as quickly. It was like only one part of the world was illuminated at that moment. The color and contrast in this photo have not been manipulated.
