Atlantic Sunrise

In December of 2003 I visited Avalon, New Jersey for a conference. I went out Saturday to watch the sunrise. It was bitter cold with a wind coming off the ocean that blew right through me, but it was so pretty and quiet. It was just me and the ocean. Because there was very little humidity compared to my visits to the Atlantic in the summer, the sky was very crisp and clear and the colors were very well defined. It was worth freezing my tail off for.
The next morning the sun rose again, of course, but a storm had moved in and brought with it ice. I stayed in that morning.
