West Virginia is an absolutely beautiful state that I've enjoyed traveling, camping and taking photosgraphs in for over 12 years now.
Some of my favorite places are Senaca Rocks, Dolly Sods, Blackwater Falls, and the area just outside of Moundsville where the New Vrindaban Community is. The Senaca Rocks area is in the Canaan Valley. The rocks are well known for rock climbing in the area, but the most climbing I've ever done there is up the trail to the observation platform. Dolly Sods is a National Wilderness Area on the Allegheny Plateau with a climate resembling a Canadian tundra. There are many unusual varieties of plant life there and it is always windy. I've spent all day up there just wandering around the rocks and bogs. Blackwater Falls is a popular tourist attraction that I've seen in every season.
Since I created the site for New Vrindaban, I spent a lot of time in the area. The community is about 20 minutes outside of Moundsville up on a ridge in the mountains. It's worth the trip down there just to see the countryside, not to mention the Palace of Gold.
